Buba is the Buddha of Athenian suburbia. A bar and restaurant in Kifissia that transports you to the Far East. An oasis of oriental flavours, exotic cocktails, and eclectic beats dished up in tropical surroundings.
Inspired by the vibrant colours and aromas of Asian night markets, our open kitchen is a celebration of street food from Thailand, Vietnam, and Hong Kong. Steaming broths and zingy salads, bouncy noodles and plump dumplings, sizzling stir-fries and fragrant curries are all made with fresh market produce.
In the spirit of a Bangkok supper club, our Athenian townhouse is dressed up in clashing prints and oriental trinkets. There’s a room for every occasion. Copper lights cast a sepia tint over the mahogany bar. Draped in hanging plants, our secret garden evokes memories of exotic adventures. Decked with a kaleidoscope of paper lanterns, our private dining room is an intimate setting for exceptional events.
At Buba, we love to shake up expectations. Our chefs turn out authentic Asian classics with a twist. Our bartenders knock up sweet-n-sour cocktails that tingle the senses. We like to mix things up on the decks too, skipping from soulful blues to old-school disco.
Intimate dates, birthday gatherings, or spontaneous boogie nights. Anything goes at Buba - as long as it’s not purist, bland, or plain old predictable.
Our menu is a roll call of Asian soul food, inspired by trips to the floating markets of Thailand, the street food stalls of Vietnam, and the dai pai dongs of Hong Kong. Laced with coconut and lemongrass, spiked with chilli and lime, or doused in hot-and-sour sauce, every dish bursts with the intense flavours of south east Asia.
Asian food and ice-cold beer are made for each other. But we’ve created a list of singular cocktails to complement the sweet and sour, salty or spicy dishes on Buba’s menu. Infused with lemongrass and cardamom syrup, a ginger and chilli kick, or a hint of distinctive Thai basil, our cocktails will get the party started.
Like your favourite mixtape, Buba’s soundtrack transcends genres and trends. Our eclectic playlist, curated by General Conzou, covers everything from soulful swing to uplifting calypso, rocksteady reggae to obscure folk music.
Private PartiesBuba can be hired for tastings, meetings, parties, and feasts. Our sultry upstairs bar can accommodate up to 100 people for sit-down dinners, special celebrations, or press launches. For larger events, you can reserve our wood-panelled secret garden or book the whole venue. Our events team can arrange everything from DJs to canapés.
